Author’s Note

I arranged to meet Ashley, a friend at Jacksons Wharf, a former colleague from my time at the Big Lottery Fund, who resides in Thornaby, not far from Hartlepool. The pub was bustling with patrons seeking shelter from the rain outside, and it was unusually busy due to the presence of the Tall Ships. Regrettably, they had ceased serving food, so after catching up with Ashley, after a couple fo drinks, we decided to move on and find somewhere to eat in town.
