“Just stick to the facts”: Kate Adie’s journey from Sunderland through global conflicts and back again.
A talk by Rachel Webb, Special Collections, University of Sunderland Library.
This talk will look at The Kate Adie Collection, now held by Special Collections in the University of Sunderland Library. Using images from Kate’s own collection we will follow her journey from her Sunderland childhood through her career as a reporter then as the first female Chief News Correspondent of the BBC, reporting from some of the key events and places of the second half of the twentieth century.
Rachel Webb is the Library Archivist in Special Collection at the University of Sunderland Library. Her work involves preserving the collections and making it possible for students, researchers, local history and community groups and others to experience and benefit from our collections both in person and online.
