Trooping the Colour, London

June 13

Trooping the Colour is one of London’s most iconic ceremonial events, marking the official birthday of the British monarch with a display of pageantry, precision, and tradition. Held each June on Horse Guards Parade, the ceremony features hundreds of soldiers from the Household Division, accompanied by military bands and mounted cavalry, all performing meticulously choreographed drills. The highlight is the “trooping” of a regimental flag, or colour, before the monarch, followed by a grand procession and a Royal Air Force flypast over Buckingham Palace. Steeped in history and spectacle, Trooping the Colour is a quintessential celebration of British heritage and royal tradition.
